Location:
Recoleta is one of the finest and most
expensive barrios (neighborhoods) of Buenos Aires. It has several upscale
shopping streets and buildings from the belle époque. With large
boulevards and spacious parks, it resembles Paris. Recoleta has a lively
restaurant, cafe and bar scene and features cafes and first class restaurants.
Recoleta is also known for its touristy attractions. The famous Recoleta
Cemetery draws large crowds because of the famous grave of Evita Perón.
In the vicinity are also the impressive white colonial Basilica Nuestra
Señora del Pilar and cultural institutions such as the Centro Cultural
de Recoleta, the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, the Biblioteca
Nacional and the Teatro Colon.
